ABSTRACT

Objective:To study factors associated with postoperative acute pancreatitis (POAP) in patients following pancreaticoduodenectomy. Methods:This retrospective analysis included 60 patients who underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy at the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from Jan 2020 to Aug 2021. Enhanced computed tomography was used to identify POAP during postoperative period of 4 to 9 days. Univariate analysis and multivariate analysis were used to find out the risk factors of POAP.Results:Of the 60 patients, 13 cases (21.7%) developed POAP. The incidence of clinically related pancreatic fistula with abdominal abscess (76.9% vs.19.1%, χ2=15.71, P<0.000 1), postoperative hospital stay (26 d vs. 18 d, U=141.5, P=0.002 5) and the severity of complications (Clavien-Dindo grade≥Ⅲ: 53.8% vs. 21.3%, χ2=5.32, P=0.02) were significantly higher in the POAP group. But there was no significant deviation between the two groups when it comes to the severe post pancreatectomy delayed hemorrhage (7.7% vs. 0, χ2=3.68, P=0.06) and the delayed gastric emptying (30.8% vs. 21.3%, χ2=0.51, P=0.47). In the univariate analysis, patients with higher body mass index ( P=0.000 3), smaller main pancreatic duct diameter ( P<0.000 1) and softer texture of the pancreas ( P=0.009) were more likely to develop POAP after pancreaticoduodenectomy. In the multivariate analysis, the pancreatic duct diameter≤2 mm ( OR=0.005,95% CI 0.000 06-0.44, P=0.020), the softer texture of pancreas ( OR=0.005, 95% CI 0.000 04-0.47, P=0.023) were risk factors for POAP. Conclusions:Patients with postoperative acute pancreatitis increased the incidence of pancreatic fistula complicating abdominal abscess.Small caliber pancreatic tube, soft texture of pancreas were risk factors of POAP.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the efficacy of different surgical methods in treatment of hilar cholangiocarcinoma (HCCA), and to analyze the factors affecting long-term prognosis of HCCA patients after surgical treatment. Methods:The clinical data of 105 patients who underwent surgical treatment for HCCA at the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from April 2010 to October 2021 were retrospectively analysed. There were 58 males and 47 females, with age (64.2±10.6) years old. Data analysed included surgical treatments, postoperative pathological data, perioperative complications and survival on follow-up. The Kaplan Meier survival curve was plotted, and the log-rank test and Cox proportional hazard model were performed to analyze the key factors affecting long-term prognosis. Results:Of 105 patients, 4 (3.8%) patients died during the perioperative period, and 58 patients (55.2%) developed complications with included 32 (30.5%) patients with pleural effusion and 12 (11.4%) patients with biliary leakage. The follow-up data was available in 85 patients with the overall median survival time of 19 months, and the 1-, 3-, 5-year cumulative survival rates of 58.1%, 27.0% and 24.8% respectively. The 1-, 3-, and 5-year cumulative survival rates for the R 0 resection patients ( n=59) were 69.4%, 36.2%, 27.4%, respectively, which were significantly better than 49.4%, 12.3%, 0% for the R 1/2 resection patients ( n=20), and 0% for the palliative drainage patients ( n=6) (all P<0.05). Univariate analysis and Cox multivariate analysis showed that age ≥70 years ( HR=2.158, 95% CI: 1.175-3.965), preoperative CA19-9 level ≥1 015 U/ml ( HR=1.981, 95% CI: 1.009-3.894), resection margin ( HR=2.587, 95% CI: 1.371-4.881), and lymph node metastasis ( HR=2.308, 95% CI: 1.167-4.567) were independent risk factors for long-term prognosis of HCCA patients (all P<0.05). Conclusions:R 0 resection was an effective way to prolong survival of patients with HCCA. Age, preoperative CA19-9 level, resection margin and lymph node metastasis were related to long-term survival of HCCA patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To analyze the clinical characteristics and prognosis of patients infected with novel coronavirus Omicron variant in Shanghai, as to provide a reference for epidemic prevention, clinical diagnosis, and treatment. Methods:Altogether 4 264 novel coronavirus Omicron variant-infected patients with positive results of nucleic acid admitted to Shanghai New International Expo Center N3 Mobile Cabin Hospital from April 2 to May 7, 2022, were included. The demographic and baseline clinical characteristics, treatment strategy, prognosis, and different factors affecting the length of hospital stay were analyzed. Results:A total of 4 264 novel coronavirus variant Omicron-infected cases were collected, including 3 111 cases (73.0%) asymptomatic infections and 1 153 cases (27.0%) mild infections. The overall median age was 45 (33, 55) years old with a range from 2 years old to 81 years old. The male to female ratio was 1.37∶1. Altogether 3 305 cases (77.5%) had been vaccinated, of which 3 166 cases completed more than 2 doses. The upper respiratory tract symptoms such as cough and expectoration were the most common clinical manifestations of these infected patients. During the course of the disease, patients with asymptomatic infection were mainly treated with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM, 55.1%) and clinical observation (36.8%), and those with mild infection were mainly treated with TCM (42.2%) or integrated Chinese and Western medicine (30.4%). All patients were cured and discharged. The overall median length of hospital stay and the negative conversion time of nucleic acid were 9 (6, 10) days and 8 (5, 9) days, respectively. Compared with the asymptomatic infected patients, the hospitalization duration and the nucleic acid negative conversion time of the mildly infected patients were slightly longer [days: 10 (8, 11) vs. 9 (5, 10); 8 (6, 10) vs. 7 (4, 9), both P < 0.001]. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the increasing age and mild infection were associated with longer hospitalization duration, and the treatment of TCM or integrated Chinese and Western medicine was associated with shortened length of hospital stay (all P < 0.05). Conclusions:The current novel coronavirus Omicron variant epidemic in Shanghai mainly caused asymptomatic and mild infections. The young and middle-aged population had a relatively high infection rate. The upper respiratory tract symptoms such as cough and expectoration were the most common clinical symptoms. Elderly and confirmed patients had prolonged hospitalization duration, while for patients receiving TCM treatment, the hospitalization duration was shortened.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To analyze the efficacy of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) for treatment of acute leukemia in the tropical area.@*METHODS@#Twelve acute leukemia patients who were underwent allo-HSCT from April 2013 to November 2018 in Hainan Hospital of Chinese PLA General Hospital were selected, including 5 cases of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and 7 case of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Three cases received HLA matched sibling hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, 8 cases received haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, 1 cases received partially mismatched unrelated hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Pretreatment regimen: 9 cases received modified BU/CY+ATG pretreatment regimen, 3 cases received BU/CY pretreatment regimen. Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) prevention regimen: all patients received cyclosporine A, mycophenolate mofetil combined with short-term methotrexate regimen. The clinical efficacy of allo-HSCT in treatment of acute leukemia in the tropical area was analyzed by detecting hematopoietic reconstitution, GVHD, infection, relapse and survival after transplantation.@*RESULTS@#All the 12 patients achieved granulocyte reconstruction and megakaryocyte reconstruction. The median time of granulocyte reconstruction was 11.5 (6-14) days, and the median time of megakaryocytic reconstruction was 12.5 (10-22) days. Within 100 days after transplantation, the acute GVHD occurved in 8 cases, including 6 cases of Ⅱ-Ⅳ degree acute GVHD and 2 cases of Ⅲ-Ⅳ degree acute GVHD, 11 cases survived more than 100 days after transplantation, and the chronic GVHD occurred in 1 case, which was mildly limited. Pulmonary infection occurred in 7 cases, cytomegaloviremia occurred in 6 cases, EB viremia occurred in 6 cases, and hemorrhagic cystitis occurred in 5 cases. 2 cases relapsed and eventually died, and the remaining 10 patients survived without disease until the date of follow-up. The median follow-up time was 4 (1-68) months, 83.3% (10/12) survived without disease, and 16.7% (2/12) relapsed.@*CONCLUSION@#Allo-HSCT is an effective method for the treatment of acute leukemia in adults. Leukemia patients should be transplanted as soon as possible after remission. The incidence of pulmonary fungal infection in transplanted patients in tropics is high, therefore the prevention and treatment of fungal infection should be strengthened.

ABSTRACT

This paper aimed at discussing the characteristics of blood glucose changes of type 2 diabetes according to the flow rule of Qi and Blood as well as the Hurst index of dynamic blood glucose collected by CGMS. A total of 156 T2DM patients were selected from the Longhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. After continuous monitoring of dynamic blood glucose for 3 consecutive days (72 hours) with CGMS, the first complete 24 hour dynamic glucose, which start at 3 to 5 am(corresponding to Lung) and end at 1 to 3 am next morning(corresponding to Liver), are used for calculating each two-hours?? Hurst index. The measurement data was set at each two-hours, and multiple groups of related sample tests (Friedman) non- parametric test methods were used for comparison between groups. The statistical significance level was set to P < 0.05. The results showed that the Hurst indices of each two-hour are all greater than 0.5. The three highest Hurst indices were: Stomach Hurst (0.960) > Heart Hurst (0.946) > Spleen Hurst (0.945), and the three lowest Hurst indices were: Lung Hurst (0.886) < Liver Hurst (0.893) < Large intestine Hurst (0.905). The standard deviation of the large intestine Hurst was the largest, reaching 0.088, and the standard deviation of the gastric Hurst was the smallest, 0.058. The distribution image of the Hurst index of individual patients at each twohours was similar to that obtained by the whole sample, but the specific time to a certain two-hours had fluctuations. The number of pairs with statistical difference between each two groups in two-hours is 29, accounting for 44% of the total number of pairs. The organs and meridians that have more differences with other two-hours are successively stomach, lung, liver, kidney, spleen and heart. The differences of the blood glucose changes at different times in patients with type 2 diabetes can be indicated by the dynamic blood glucose Hurst indices, which are calculated according to the rule of Qi and blood flow.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the prognostic factors of patients with lymph node-negative metastasis gastric cancer (pN0).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Clinicopathological data of patients with pN0 gastric cancer who underwent radical operation at the Department of Surgical Oncology, The First Hospital of China Medical University from May 1980 to August 2012 were collected and analyzed retrospectively.</p><p><b>INCLUSION CRITERIA</b>(1) Patients were diagnosed as gastric adenocarcinoma; (2) Postoperative pathology confirmed T1a to 4bN0M0 gastric cancer; (3) Total number of harvested lymph node was more than 15. The patients, who died within 1 month after the operation, died of other diseases, had remnant gastric cancer, or had incomplete follow-up data, were excluded. Univariate analysis was used to analyze the clinical factors that may influence the prognosis of patients with stage pN0 gastric cancer, then, those significant variables were entered into the Cox's proportional hazards regression model for multivariate analysis to obtain the independent prognostic factors for patients with pN0 gastric cancer finally. Furthermore, the prognosis of patients with pN0 advanced gastric cancer (invasive depth ≥ T2) were analyzed using the same method.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>A total of 610 patients with pN0 gastric cancer were enrolled in the study, including 441 males and 169 females with age ranging from 19 to 83 (mean 56.4±11.0) years, D1 lymph node dissection in 45 cases, D2 lymph node dissection in 543 cases, D3 lymph node dissection in 22 cases, and 384 cases of advanced gastric cancer. The overall followed-up was 1 to 372 (median 32) months. Ninety cases (14.8%) were dead during the follow-up. The median survival was 277.7(95%CI: 257.6 to 297.8) months, and the 1-, 3-, 5-year survival rates were 96.5%, 87%, 83.2%. Univariate analysis showed that tumor diameter, depth of invasion, gross type, lymph node dissection and lymph vessel cancer embolus were related to the prognosis (all P<0.05). The 5-year survival rate of patients with tumor diameter >4 cm was significantly lower than those with tumor diameter ≤4 cm (75.6% vs. 87.8%, P=0.000). The 5-year survival rates of T1a, T1b, T2, T3 and T4 were 98.4%, 92.8%, 84.2%, 61.0% and 31.4% respectively, and the difference was statistically significant (P=0.000). In gross type, 5-year survival rate of early gastric cancer was 96.0%, and of Borrmann I( to IIII( type gastric cancer was 100%, 83.4%, 73.7% and 68.9% respectively, whose difference was statistically significant(P=0.000). The 5-year survival rates in patients undergoing lymph node dissection D1, D2 and D3 were 100%, 83.3% and 58.7%, and the difference was significant (P=0.005). The 5-year survival rate of patients with positive lymphatic cancer embolus was lower than those with negative ones (69.4% vs. 86.9%, P=0.000). Multivariate analysis showed that the gross type [Borrmann II(/early gastric cancer: HR(95% CI)=15.129(3.284 to 69.699), Borrmann III(/early gastric cancer: HR(95% CI)=14.613 (3.292 to 64.875), Borrmann IIII(/early gastric cancer: HR (95% CI)=15.430 (2.778 to 85.718),Borrmann IIIII(/early gastric cancer: HR(95%CI)=12.604 (1.055 to 150.642), P=0.025] and the positive lymphatic cancer embolus [HR(95% CI)=3.241 (2.056 to 5.108), P=0.000] were the independent prognostic factors of patients with pN0 gastric cancer. For pN0 patients with advanced gastric cancer, multivariate analysis showed that the depth of invasion [stage T3/stage T2: HR(95%CI)=1.520 (0.888 to 2.601), stage T4/stage T2: HR(95%CI)=2.235(1.227 to 4.070); P=0.031] and the positive lymphatic cancer embolus [HR(95%CI)=3.065 (1.930 to 4.868); P=0.000] were the independent risk factors influencing the prognosis.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Positive lymphatic cancer embolus and worse gross pattern indicate poorer prognosis of patients with pN0 gastric cancer, which may be used as effective markers in evaluating the prognosis. As for pN0 advanced gastric cancer, invasion depth and positive lymphatic cancer embolus can play a more important role in the prediction.</p>

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression of Fascin and breast cancer prognosis. Methods Paraffin sections of breast cancer from 110 patients were investigated by immunohostochemistry with monoclonal anti-fascin antibody. Data of the Fascin expression and clinicopathological variables were analyzed for disease-free survival(DFS)and overall survival(OS)by Kaplan-miere and cox model. Results The expression of Fascin was significantly associated with ER negative,PR negative and lymph node metastasis, but not with age,HER2 status and tumor size. The patients with positive expression of Fascin had shorter disease free survival time than those without Fascin expression. Conclusion High expression of Fascin is associated with poor prognosis in breast cancer. Fascin is an independent prognostic indicator of disease-free survival time.

ABSTRACT

This study was aimed to investigate the curative effect and safety of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUCMSC) to treat acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) of children after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). HUCMSC were isolated and cultured by collagenase digestion and passage culture. The 3rd to the 5th passage of hUCMSC were used for clinical treatment. Five cases of children acute leukemia achieved complete remission after chemotherapy. Two cases received HLA 3/6 loci matched haploidentical bone marrow HSCT. One case received HLA-matched sibling bone marrow and peripheral blood HSCT. One case received unrelated HLA 4/6 loci matched umbilical cord blood HSCT. One case received unrelated HLA 5/6 loci matched umbilical cord blood HSCT. The children received immunosuppressive therapy after III-IV aGVHD occurring. They received 0.5×10(6)/kg hUCMSC infusion when conventional therapy was ineffective. The results showed that 5 cases of children acute leukemia achieved hematopoietic reconstitution and developed the III-IV grade aGVHD. The five cases of children were infused with hUCMSC. The rash subsided, the liver function was normalized and the gastrointestinal symptoms were improved. The infusion-related adverse reaction did not happen. At present, the 5 children are in remission. It is concluded that allogeneic HSCT is an effective therapeutic method for children with acute leukemia. HUCMSC infusion can be safely and effectively used for the treatment of refractory aGVHD.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the inhibitory effects of antisense oligodeoxynucleotide(ASODN) of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT 3) on development and growth of transplanted lung A549 cell adenocarcinoma in nude mice. Methods: The inhibitory effects of STAT 3 ASODN on A549 cell growth was evaluated by CCK-8 assay. STAT 3 ASODN-treated A549 cells were implanted subcutaneously into nude mice; the tumor growth was observed and the tumor-forming rate was calculated. After subcutaneous implantation of the untreated A549 cells, the tumor-bearing mice were randomized into 3 groups: control group, STAT 3 ASODN group, and nonsense oligodeoxynucleotide (NSODN) group, with normal saline, STAT 3 ASODN, and STAT 3 NSODN injected intatumorally (15 mg/kg daily for 3 weeks). The tumor volumes were measured every other day and the tumor weights were determined. The protein expressions of STAT 3 and p-STAT 3 in xenografts were examined by Western blotting analysis. Results: STAT 3 ASODN significantly inhibited the growth of A549 cells compared with STAT 3 NSODN group (P<0.05). The tumor formation ability of A549 cells treated with STAT 3 ASODN was significantly decreased (with the tumor inhibitory rate being 75.8%). Moreover, the growth of transplanted tumor was also significantly inhibited in STAT 3 ASODN group as compared with those in NSODN group and control group (P<0.05) . The tumor weights were significantly reduced in STAT 3 ASODN group than in STAT 3 NSODN group and control group (with the tumor inhibitory rate being 51.1%). The expression of STAT 3 protein and p-STAT 3 was also down-regulated in STAT 3 ASODN group. Conclusion: STAT 3 ASODN can suppress the tumorigenic ability of A549 cells and inhibit the growth of transplanted tumor in nude mice.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the influence of self-designed STAT3 antisense oligodeoxynucleotides (STAT3 ASODN) on irradiation sensitivity of lung adenocarcinoma. Methods Lung adenocarcinoma cells were exposed to different doses of irradiation (4, 8, 12, 16, and 20 Gy 60Co γ) after transfected with STAT3 ASODN. The survival rates of cells in each group were evaluated by CCK-8 assay. Early apoptosis of cells was observed by FACS. Local irradiation models were established with tumof-bearing mice. STAT2 ASODN was intratumorally injected for two weeks at a dose of 15 mg/kg, and 2 h alter injection the animais were locally irradiated with 60Co γ(totally 20 Gy, 2 Gy each time, 5 times each week for 2 weeks, with a irradiation rate of 1 Gy/min). The following parameters were observed, including the tumor size, delay of tumor growth, relative growth rate, growth inhibition rate, q value, and tumor mass. Results In vitro experiment showed that compared with irradiation alone, combination of irradiation with STAT3 ASODN signiflcantly decreased the survival rate and increased the early apoptosis rate of A549 celis. In vivo experiment found that combination of STAT3 ASODN with local irradiation greatly inhibited the growth rate of lung adenocarcinoma xenografts (q= 1.27). Conclusion STAT3 ASODN not only possess chemotherapeutic effect, but also can improve the sensitivity of tumor cells, making it a promising agent for future research and clinical application.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the application prospective of carboxyfullerene C_3 as a radioprotectant or assistant for tumor radiotherapy. Methods Different concentrations of C_3 were incubated with K562 and AHH-1 cell,CCK-8 assay and trypan blue rejection test were performed to examine the influence of C_3 on the cell viability.Annexin V/PI staining and flow cytometry assay were applied to assess the cell cycle and apoptosis after 7-ray irradiation. Results C_3 showed little toxicity to AHH-1 cell with the survival rate over 95% ,but 600 mg/L of C_3 markedly inhibited the growth of K562 cell (82%) .Pretreatment of 100 mg/L C_3 significantly increased the survival rate of AHH-1 cell after 4 Gy irradiation compared with the single radiation group(71.3% vs 90.3%) ,but decreased the apoptosis rate (26.3% vs 12.6%) ,while the survival rate of K562 cell was decreased and the apoptosis rate was elevated with the increase of C_3 concentration. Moreover, the cell cycle analysis revealed the G_2 phase block in AHH-1 cell after radiation exposure was mitigated by C_3 pretreatment, but that in K562 cell was aggravated. Conclusions C_3 has good radioprotective effects on AHH-1 cells. For K562 cell,C_3 could inhibit the cell proliferation, promote the radiation induced apoptosis and aggravate the G_2 phase block.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the modification of C_(60) on the radiation effects of ~(60)Co-γ irradiation on zebrafish. Methods The adult and embryonic zebrafish were used as model organisms to examine the potential of C_(60) to elicit oxidative stress responses on the surviving rate, hatching rate and malformation occurrence, both upon exposure to light or in the dark.Reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and DNA damage were examined as the possible underlying mechanism. Results 500 × 10~(-9) nano-C_(60) waterborne exposure could enhance the γ-irradiation effects by decreasing adult fish survival upon light exposure, which resulted in ROS and DNA damage increasing. The hatching rates were also inhibited with higher malformation, though dark exposure did not make any enhancement, except that the 5000× 10~(-9) C_(60) would inhibit larvae hatching and induced more malformation. Conclusions Waterborne nano-C_(60) exposure may enhance the radiation effects on zebrafish,ROS production and DNA damage increasing may be the underlying mechanism.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the expression of FHIT gene in the 60Co gamma-ray irradiated human lymphocytoblast(AHH-1) cell and the bystander effect cell, and to explore the function of FHIT gene in the bystander effect of ionizing radiation.Method Preparation of bystander effect cell model:after irradiated with different dose of 60Co gamma-ray(0,2,5 Gy),the directly irradiated AHH-1 ceils were collected immediately by centfifugation and co-cultivated with non-irradiated cells in Transwell.forming the bystander effect group P1.In addition, some culture media supernatant of direcfly irradiated cells were transfefred to the non- irradiated cells culture medium, forming the group P2.Then cells were collected at 0,6,12,and 24 h after irradiation and the total RNA and protein were extracted.RT-PcR and Western blot were performed to determine the FHIT mRNA and protein level.respectively.Flow cytometry assay and cell counting were conducted to detect the alteration of cell cycle and cell proliferation, respectively at 0,24 h after irradiation. Results The mRNA level of FHIT gene among control cells, directly irradiated cells and bystander cells showed no obvious difference. while the FHIT protein level of the directly irradiated ceils and bystander cells was siguificandy down-regulated compared with the control cells(F=102.45,P<0.001).Moreover,the directly irradiated cells and bystander cells showed significant G2 phase arrest and obviously inhibited the proliferation ability. Conclusions 2 and 5 Gy of 60Co γ-ray irradiated AHH-1 cells can result in down regulation of the FHIT protein expression, which suggests that FHIT gene is involved in the process of bvstander effect induced by irradiation.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore the risk factors for mesothelioma so as to provide epidemiological evidences for prevention of this disease and for further study of its pathogenesis.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>A 1:1 paired case-control study was carried out in which asbestos exposure, life style and histories of cancer in first-degree relatives of 23 patients who had mesothelioma were compared with those of controls.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The mean age of patients was 57.96 years with a latency period of 52 years. There were no significant differences in mean exposure age, mean exposure periods, and smoking, drinking habits between patients and controls. The mean cumulative exposure of patients was 37.2 x 10(5) f, which was significantly higher than that of controls (32.3 x 10(5) f, P = 0.005). The odds ratio increased with the cumulative exposure. The percentage of cancer in first-degree relative of patients (26.1%) was significantly higher than that of controls [(4.4%, P < 0.05), OR = 7.75 (95% CI: 0.85-71.43)].</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>There may be a dose-response relationship between mesothelioma and asbestos exposure. A family history of cancer may be a risk factor for mesothelioma, or may indicate an increased susceptibility to mesothelioma under the same level of asbestos exposure.</p>

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the effect of perinatal exposure to sulphamethazine on the expression of neurotrophs(NGF and BDNF) in the hippocampus of offspring in rats. Methods The dams(SD rats) were fed with sulphamethazine at the doses of 50,100 and 200 mg/(kg.d) respectively from gestational day 7 to postpartum day 21.The brains of the pups aged 30 days were collected and the expression of NGF and BDNF was determined by immunohistochemistry staining. Results The expression of NGF in CA1 and CA3 of hippocampus significantly decreased in all pups of perinatal exposure to sulfamethazine(P
